A Forgotten Soda Exploding in the Freezer

confusion remains my favorite
convention of all time,
because every life plays
fast and loose with the truth.

life’s just a soda pop,
left too long in the freezer,
by someone too impatient
to wait for it to chill.

wisdom means realizing
how small and unwise I am,
how far I have come,
yet how far I have to go.

when pressure builds
as subsequent moments are rotten,
then a sudden burst, chaos, sticky despair,
yet a sweet lesson lingers.
