while I read my book in the garden.
the Georgia afternoon has shifted
from hot rain to cool overcast breeze,
which allows me to sit outside
and finish this book.
these days of doing nothing
have become my favorite thing,
especially with six jobs, a podcast,
constant travel up and down the east coast,
and being a dad.
the bees buzz my head
on their way to and fro the flowers,
while I dog-ear the page
and pay attention
to the wonders of the small world.
I am happy to be small, insignificant,
but part of the whole parade of days.
