THE EXTENT OF MY HAPPINESS

If I won the lottery,
the first thing I would do
is go ahead and buy
all the books on my
Amazon wishlist.

Then I would go
get a big tattoo,
before flying somewhere
secluded in Europe,
where I would just write.

After escaping for a spell,
I would buy a small studio
in Upper Manhattan,
where I would live
only in Autumn.

The rest of the year,
I would jump from
Montreal in Summer,
LA in Spring,
and South Florida in Winter.

I would collect
hats and sneakers and tattoos,
churn out books,
and bother bands,
but that is about the extent of my happiness.
