we are deodorant and bars of soap.
we are nothing more than
the toilet paper we use too much of
to wipe our asses.
consumed by life,
just as we consume life,
we eat days, shit them out,
get love stuck in our teeth,
and stink of regret.
as snacks, we are shelved.
as meals, we are devoured.
as animals, we are human.
as humans, we are animals.
we take and take,
because we are only visiting,
and we know this too well too much of the time.
