I'd name it Wolf.
when I was young,
and decided I wanted to be a writer,
I typed out The Great Gatsby
in its entirety
just to get a feel of the cadence.
I didn't care for the story itself –
that was rich people
and rich people's problems –
but I enjoyed the flow of the sentences.
now, I run from nonsense,
waste a lot of time;
I wonder what my mother would say.
they're still homemade cookies
if they're Nestle Tollhouse store-bought,
because you cook them at home.
