more whiskey,
so we can share stories
about bartending
and the girls we fell for
during the pouring.
talking over forks,
tomatoes falling on our shirts,
the morning is strong,
but the afternoon is weak week work,
and the soundtrack is Lean on Me,
perfect for the stupid new year
and our dumbfounded resolutions
might be beyond us or already behind us.
