happiness is a very simple thing.
I woke up today!
in a very simple way.

it's hard to see the sea on a poet's salary.
maybe just a fisherman's son standing shoreline.

it's hard to see the prairie.
sometimes.

does the love grow?
but of course.
stay.

yesterday is gone.
for good.
or ill.

today the sun is out.
the world is still cold.
but the horizon has not been defeated.
let's lose some things.
and find some other simple things.
