The Poetry Section
meet me at Strand.
in the Poetry section.
let's say noon.
but keep in mind.
I am always fifteen minutes late.
afterward, Grey Dog Cafe.
coffee is on me, and I know everyone there.
yes, I have heard of The Tallest Man on Earth.
have you heard of The Luminners?
you will love them.
it is cold.
winter is on its way.
but the sun is smiling today.
and Union Square is wonderful.
I am smiling, too, like a proud painter.
the crackheads are still there.
hovering around that haunted bench.
the scary squirrels are daring us.
we then carried our words down to Houston Street.
then told stories on the Lower East Side.
I am a coyote in ewe's clothing.
you are a wonderful weirdo.
one dollar pizza is delicious.
I wish I could hold your hand.
it's a shame days are so sweet, yet only so long.
